ONE MAN’S TRASH IS ANOTHER MAN’S TREASURE
The majority of Trademark Living products have their roots in India in various ways. Durable materials and recycling are important elements of Trademark Living's DNA, and India inspires us and allows us to recycle, upcycle and re-produce without compromising our unique expression.
When we visit our suppliers, large areas are revealed with piles of for example, old doors, cabinets, and wooden trolleys. It is like entering a treasure chamber, and we always feel like Aladdin in the magic cave - we never know which treasures are hiding.
When we look in the “treasure chambers”, we find products and materials in different conditions. Some products we use, as they are, some we restore and others we choose to upcycle. For example, we turn old bicycles into lamps, tables, and decorations. We are also always looking for recycled wood that we use in the production of furniture.
OUR INDIAN RELATIONS
Many years of cooperation with the same Indian suppliers have created a close and personal relationship between us. The Indian companies and employees have evolved over the years, as well as we have, and it is always a pleasure to follow their journey and lives.
Our collaboration is very special when we jointly develop product. The process is dynamic, and we are often surprised that despite language barriers and cultural differences, we are able to create fantastic products. We understand each other because we know each other - and then body language helps a great deal. A thought and a few lines in the sand can make a finished prototype in just two hours later. Magic almost happens - without having to say a lot.
THE TRADEMARK LIVING STYLE
Trademark Living's products are particularly rustic because they are not made on assembly lines. Our Indian suppliers produce partly machined and partly handmade, so the products are never 100% identical - and that is what creates our unique expression.
That way, we never quite know how our products look like - and that is simply part of the charm. We do not think the products need to be perfect - it gets too boring. We like each product to be its own. Maybe it creates obstacles along the way, but it creates even more laughs and amazing products.
